Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

Love God.  Love People.  Grow In Faith.  Change the World.

By achieving these core principles, we fulfill the mandate that Jesus gave to His Church.  For this reason, we purposefully designed every activity to fulfill one of these values.  By streamlining our programs to be purpose driven, we can more effectively reach our world and bless our community.  Join us and help fulfill Christ's Mission!

Love God

Jesus said that loving God with all that we are is the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).  For this reason it is our first priority at Calvary.

Every Sunday morning we gather together to love God passionately through our worship.  Lives are changed when we Love the LORD with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength.

This fulfills our first core value.

Love People

Loving People is the second reason we exist.  We cannot love God if we do not love one another.

We go out of our way to make everyone feel loved and welcomed at Calvary because Jesus died for everyone.  Nobody is ever left out at Calvary.

Several times a year we have Connect Groups where families across Hood County host fun nights in homes and businesses.  During these fun nights we do anything from playing board games to eating international cuisine to bowling.  The purpose is to build relationships and learn to love one another outside the four walls of the church building.

This fulfills our second core value.

Grow In Faith

Scripture says, "So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God," (Romans 10:17).

We take the Word of God seriously and seek to base all of our beliefs directly on the Bible.  Every Wednesday night we hold age specific Grow In Faith Bible Study classes where we study the Bible in-depth.  Through studying God's Word our faith is strengthened and our knowledge is increased.

This fulfills our third core value.

Change the World

Jesus changed the world with His life.

Jesus changed the world with His death.

Jesus changed the world with His resurrection.

Everything Jesus did changed our world.  It is no surprise that before He ascended into Heaven, Jesus promised the baptism of the Holy Spirit to His Church declaring that this would also give them power to change the world (Acts 1:8).  The Spirit was poured out for the first time in Acts 2:1-4.  Now it is our turn to carry on the legacy of Jesus and change our world through the power of His Spirit.

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the LORD," Zechariah 4:6.

There are two ways we seek to change the world.  The first is by sharing the gospel at home and living to help others.  The second is by partnering with Missionaries across the globe who go where we cannot go.

This fulfills our fourth core value.
